Ford Ranger PATS Disable / Reset Service

If your Ford Ranger will not start after a PCM/ECU replacement, the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) may be the cause. How PATS Works

Ford PCMs often include built-in PATS capability, even if the vehicle was not originally equipped. Once a PCM has been “married” to a PATS system, it will always expect the immobilizer handshake before starting. Our PATS reset service clears this lock, restoring normal plug-and-play operation.

Security Light Woes

After PATS delete, the security light may remain illuminated on some Ford Ranger dashboards. If this occurs, the only solution is to remove the bulb or LED from the cluster.

Plug-and-Play Installation

Most customers can install a PATS-cleared PCM with no additional programming. In rare cases, a global DTC clear may be required before the Ranger will start.
