Chevrolet Avalanche VATS Disable / Delete Service

If your Chevrolet Avalanche will not start due to a failed VATS key or ignition problem, the Vehicle Anti-Theft System (VATS) is often the cause. How VATS Works

Chevrolet introduced the Vehicle Anti-Theft System to prevent theft by requiring a resistor chip inside the ignition key. When the resistor signal is not detected, the ECM/PCM disables fuel and spark, preventing the engine from starting. Our VATS delete service clears this lock, restoring normal plug-and-play operation.

Security Light Woes

After VATS delete, the security light may remain illuminated on some Avalanche instrument clusters. If this happens, the only solution is to remove the bulb or LED from the dash.

Plug-and-Play Installation

Most customers can install a VATS-deleted ECM/PCM with no additional programming. In rare cases, a global DTC clear may be required before the truck will start.
