How VATS Works

Chevrolet introduced the Vehicle Anti-Theft System in the Corvette to deter theft by requiring a resistor chip in the ignition key. If the ECM/PCM does not detect the correct resistance, it disables fuel and spark, preventing the engine from starting. Our VATS delete service clears this lock, restoring normal plug-and-play operation.

Security Light Woes

After VATS delete, the security light may remain illuminated on some Corvette dashboards. If this happens, the only solution is to remove the bulb or LED from the cluster.

Most customers can install a VATS-deleted ECM/PCM with no additional programming. In rare cases, a global DTC clear may be required before the car will start.
