Dodge Ram Truck Speed Limiter Removal or Raise Service

Mail-in PCM/ECU programming for supported gasoline Dodge and Ram trucks. Choose complete speed limiter removal or request a higher maximum vehicle-speed limit. Diesel applications are not supported for this service.

Before You Order

• Select the model year first, then choose one of the gasoline engines available for that year.
• Choose Remove Factory Speed Limiter or Raise Factory Speed Limiter.
• If choosing Raise, enter the requested maximum speed in MPH.
• Enter the complete 17-character VIN.

Do not order for an unlisted combination. If your year and gasoline engine do not appear together in the selectors, contact MoPower before ordering.

Removal or a Requested Limit Raise?

The factory calibration can contain an electronic vehicle-speed threshold. Where supported, speed limiter removal changes the applicable calibration parameters so the original maximum-speed threshold no longer imposes that limit. Customers may also call this speed governor removal, governor delete, or top-speed limiter removal.

Complete removal is not required. MoPower can instead raise the factory speed limiter to a requested maximum speed. A requested electronic limit does not guarantee that the truck can safely or physically reach that speed. Tires, vehicle condition, gearing, aerodynamics, power, environment, and other mechanical factors remain independent of the programmed threshold.

Speed Limiter vs. RPM / Rev Limiter

The vehicle-speed limiter and the engine RPM / rev limiter are separate calibration functions. This service does not automatically raise or remove the engine RPM limiter.

What This Service Changes

This service changes the applicable vehicle-speed limiter strategy in the PCM/ECU. It is not a full performance tune and does not by itself add horsepower or automatically change ignition timing, fueling, torque management, throttle response, transmission calibration, cooling-fan settings, cylinder-deactivation strategy, or other performance tables. No external speed-governor bypass box or permanent wiring modification is required for the calibration itself.

How the Mail-In Service Works

1. Choose the supported model year and gasoline engine.
2. Select removal or a requested limit raise and enter the required vehicle information.
3. Complete the order and ship the PCM/ECU to MoPower Calibrations.
4. MoPower reads and programs the applicable controller calibration, then returns the controller for installation.

Important Application Notes

Controller strategy and calibration support can vary within a model year or engine family. If the PCM has been replaced, previously tuned, modified, swapped, or comes from an unusual fleet or export application, contact MoPower before ordering.
