What This Service Does

• SKIM / WIN Removal — disables the factory immobilizer system to eliminate no-start conditions

Important Notes

• SKIM Module Disconnect — the SKIM/WIN module must be unplugged before installing a PCM with security cleared (2007+ WIN systems may require different handling)
• Security Light — some vehicles may still show the security light after SKIM removal; this does not affect drivability
• Plug & Play — most SKIM-cleared PCMs are ready to install; in some cases, a global code clear is required before the vehicle starts

How SKIM/Immobilizer Works

Every Chrysler PCM is SKIM-capable, even if the vehicle did not originally include the system. Once activated, the PCM always searches for a SKIM/WIN signal. By clearing the SKIM function, the PCM will operate normally without the immobilizer system. Both security and non-security keys can be used with a SKIM-cleared PCM.
